Have
you ever wondered what came before The Wizard
of Oz? What was life like
for Glinda the Good Witch when she was younger? How did the Wicked Witch
of the West become so…wicked? How does one become a scarecrow?
Who doesn’t have courage inside themselves? You can find all the
answers when you experience the Tony award-winning musical, Wicked, today!
Based loosely on Gregory Maguire’s best selling novel, Wicked:
The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the musical gives
insight into the private lives of each of the characters everyone is
familiar with from The Wizard of Oz.
This sensational musical introduces Galinda (later changed to Glinda)
and Elphaba, two unique witches with very different outlooks on life.
Follow along as the two women attend the same school, Shiz University.
Shunned by everyone in the school because of her toad-like appearance,
Elphaba forms an incredible bond with Glinda uncommon to most people.
With the palace guards on her heels for stealing the Grimmerie, a book
of spells, Elphaba runs away to fight the Wizard. Over time, she earns
the title “The Wicked Witch of the West.” Attending Wicked
this season is a must! Touring over 30 cities in Canada and the United
States combined, the production has broken several box office records
around the world. In 2004, it won Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design
and Best Actress. It also won six Drama Desk Awards.
